What they want
- Speculative fiction and art (fantasy, science fiction, horror or magical realism) involving characters, settings or themes directly related to the African continent.
- English (translations welcome). Original, previously unpublished. No fan fiction.
- Non-fiction essays or reviews that deal with African speculative fiction.
- When a window is open: one email attachment (.doc, .docx, .rtf or .odt) to editor@omenana.com, plus a cover letter with legal name, address, email, phone, brief publication history, bio (max 100 words) and a profile photo.
What they don't want
- Do not submit while the stated window is closed.
- Poetry, drama or film scripts.
- Simultaneous submissions — the official page says they no longer accept them.
- Revised drafts of work already submitted, unless they ask.
- Art already published anywhere other than your portfolio, unless they request it.
