Finding an anime that feels exactly like Solo Leveling is harder than it sounds.

The combination is almost unfair: an extremely weak protagonist, a mysterious system, monsters, dungeons, constant power growth and that satisfying feeling of watching someone everyone underestimated become a completely different person.

There are plenty of great anime with powerful characters, but not many give you exactly what Solo Leveling gives you.

Still, if you loved Sung Jinwoo's journey from an E-Rank hunter to someone nobody could ignore, these 10 anime are worth watching.

1. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

This is probably one of the strongest recommendations on this list.

Rimuru's journey has that same from almost nothing to an unbelievable level of power feeling that makes Solo Leveling so addictive.

He starts life in a completely different form and gradually builds his abilities, his influence and the world around him.

The more you watch, the more powerful he becomes.

And that's the part I really enjoy.

You start with a character who doesn't look like someone who is going to become one of the strongest beings around, and then the story keeps raising the ceiling.

If the power progression in Solo Leveling gave you goosebumps, this one is worth your time.

2. Kaiju No. 8

Kaiju No. 8 takes a different route to the same kind of excitement.

Kafka Hibino isn't introduced as some unstoppable fighter. He's an ordinary-looking man who eventually gains a power that completely changes his life.

He becomes something that should be impossible.

And that's what makes the transformation so exciting.

You watch him go from someone who seems far away from the strongest fighters to someone carrying a terrifying power inside him.

It isn't Solo Leveling, but if you enjoyed watching Jinwoo become something nobody expected, Kaiju No. 8 should be on your list.

3. Tower of God

Tower of God is another anime where entering the world means entering a place full of tests, powerful characters, mysteries and dangerous challenges.

Bam begins his journey without really understanding the world he's entering.

As he moves deeper into the Tower, the scale of everything around him becomes much bigger.

The mystery is one of the biggest attractions here.

You keep discovering that there is much more going on than you initially thought.

If you enjoyed the mysterious world-building surrounding Solo Leveling, Tower of God is worth checking out.

4. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?

Don't let the title fool you.

DanMachi has plenty of comedy and fantasy elements, but underneath that is a genuine progression story.

Bell Cranel starts as a relatively inexperienced adventurer and gradually becomes stronger through his experiences in dangerous dungeons.

The dungeon setting also gives it a connection to something Solo Leveling fans will immediately understand: going into dangerous places, fighting monsters and becoming stronger because of what you survive.

It isn't as dark as Solo Leveling, but the progression is satisfying.

5. Black Clover

Black Clover is another classic underdog story.

Asta starts at a massive disadvantage in a world where magic is everything.

Instead of simply accepting that he's weaker than everyone else, he keeps pushing forward.

The story follows his growth from an underestimated newcomer into someone capable of standing alongside extremely powerful fighters.

If the underdog aspect of Solo Leveling was one of your favorite parts, Black Clover is an easy recommendation.

6. Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer is different from Solo Leveling, but the journey of its protagonist is what makes it belong on this list.

Tanjiro doesn't begin as an unstoppable warrior.

He has to train, struggle, lose, improve and continue fighting opponents far beyond what he initially seems capable of handling.

The animation and battles are also a huge part of the experience.

What makes the journey work is that you actually follow Tanjiro's growth.

You don't just wake up one day and find an already-perfect protagonist.

You watch him become stronger.

And that zero-to-hero feeling is one of the things Solo Leveling fans can appreciate.

7. Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen brings supernatural battles, terrifying enemies and some seriously powerful characters.

Yuji Itadori is thrown into a world he never expected to enter after swallowing one of the most dangerous curses around.

And then there's Sukuna.

The moment Sukuna enters the story, the entire atmosphere changes.

Jujutsu Kaisen also has characters like Gojo, whose presence alone can make a scene feel completely different.

If you want powerful abilities, intense battles and a world where the characters can become terrifyingly strong, this is one of the easiest recommendations here.

8. Hunter x Hunter

Hunter x Hunter isn't simply about becoming stronger as quickly as possible.

It's a much longer journey.

Gon starts out as a young boy with a huge dream, and we follow him as he enters the world of Hunters and discovers just how dangerous and complicated that world really is.

The interesting thing is that Gon isn't the only impressive character.

Killua is already incredibly capable from very early in the story, while Gon has to continue developing.

That makes their relationship and progression even more interesting.

Hunter x Hunter also relies heavily on strategy rather than simply asking which character has the biggest power level.

If you enjoyed Solo Leveling's progression but want something with more depth and a longer journey, Hunter x Hunter is an excellent choice.

9. Bleach

If you love powerful transformations, big battles and characters constantly unlocking new abilities, Bleach is difficult to ignore.

Ichigo is pulled into a supernatural world and gradually discovers that there is far more to him than he originally understood.

Then you get the transformations.

The battles.

The increasingly powerful enemies.

And, of course, Bankai.

There is something ridiculously satisfying about hearing a character announce "Bankai" and watching the entire fight change.

Bleach doesn't have Solo Leveling's exact leveling system, but it delivers that same feeling of "this character just became something much more powerful."

10. Sword Art Online

Sword Art Online is another good recommendation if you enjoyed the game-like feeling of Solo Leveling.

The characters are placed inside a world where the stakes are much more serious than simply losing a video game.

Kirito quickly becomes one of the standout fighters, and the series combines game mechanics, dangerous enemies, progression and powerful abilities.

The connection to Solo Leveling isn't perfect, but the game-world atmosphere and constant battles make it a natural recommendation for viewers who enjoy that kind of fantasy.

Is There an Anime That Actually Beats Solo Leveling?

That's the difficult question.

There are anime on this list that are better in certain areas.

Hunter x Hunter has incredible depth.

Demon Slayer has spectacular animation.

Jujutsu Kaisen has incredible characters and battles.

Bleach has some of the most iconic transformations.

And That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime gives you an incredibly satisfying power progression.

But Solo Leveling has something special.

Watching Sung Jinwoo go from an E-Rank hunter who everyone underestimated to someone who could walk into a room and completely change the atmosphere is incredibly satisfying.

That's why finding an anime that feels exactly the same is so difficult.

You don't need these anime to replace Solo Leveling.

Watch them because each one gives you a different version of the things that made Solo Leveling so addictive: growth, power, battles, dangerous worlds and protagonists who become far more than anyone expected.
