If you put me inside either Alice in Borderland or Squid Game and told me:
“Survive.”
I'm choosing neither.
😂
But if I absolutely had to choose?
Alice in Borderland.
And I know that sounds crazy.
Why I Think Alice in Borderland Is Harder
The biggest difference for me is skill.
In Squid Game, there are situations where luck can play a major role.
You can make it through certain rounds because you happened to choose correctly.
In Alice in Borderland, I feel like you need to be an all-round survivor.
You need intelligence.
You need physical ability.
You need speed.
You need teamwork.
You need psychological awareness.
And sometimes you need to understand what the hell is happening before everyone else does.
That's terrifying.
You Can't Just Be Lucky
That's what makes the Borderland games so interesting to me.
You can't simply depend on luck.
You need to think.
You need to move.
You need to understand the rules.
And sometimes you need to understand the people around you.
That's why, if I were transported into Borderland, I wouldn't even try to pretend I could survive alone.
I'm finding Arisu and Usagi.
Immediately.
😂
I Need Arisu and Usagi on My Team
If I'm in Borderland, I'm looking for their team.
Because Arisu brings the thinking.
Usagi brings the physical ability and survival skills.
And when you combine those abilities, you've got a much better chance.
The series puts Arisu and the other players through games designed around different abilities and strategies.

That's one reason the show works so well for me.
Every game feels like it could expose a completely different weakness.
Squid Game Is Still Incredible
Don't get me wrong.
I loved Squid Game Season 1.
The deaths.
The pressure.
The competition.
The race against time.
The feeling that practically anyone could disappear.
Season 1 had me locked in.
But when I compare the survival mechanics themselves, I still give the advantage to Alice in Borderland.
And Then Came That Joker Card
This is one of the biggest reasons I remember the show so clearly.
I thought the story was finished.
The cards were dealt with.
The story seemed to be coming to an end.
Then—
THE JOKER.
I was like:
WHAT?
😂
That final Joker image completely changed my expectations.
Netflix's explanation of the Season 2 ending confirms that the Joker card remains after the other cards disappear, deliberately leaving its meaning mysterious.

Then Season 3 returned with the Joker as the final card and expanded the story around it.

That was one of those moments where a show makes you realize:
“Wait. We're not finished yet.”
My Verdict
If you're asking me which show I prefer as a survival concept:
Alice in Borderland.
If you're asking me which one is easier to recommend to someone who wants a mainstream survival thriller:
Both.
But if you force me to choose the world I'd rather be trapped in?
I'd still choose neither.
Because I'd probably be eliminated in the first five minutes. 😂
But if Arisu and Usagi are accepting applications for their team?
I'm coming.
